Choose a provider and model.
Provider and model settings live in the plugin’s AI settings. Chats retain their own selection. The catalog can change, and model capabilities differ.
API-key providers.
The visible development catalog includes OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, xAI, Groq, OpenRouter, Amazon Bedrock, Z.AI, Moonshot and Meta. Provider access, charges and terms are separate from Shard.
The current build saves each provider key in Studio’s plugin settings. The key is sent through Shard infrastructure with relevant conversation content to call that provider.
Model options.
Reasoning, prompt caching and context modes are available where the model and integration support them. Context settings do not give a model more capacity than it supports.
Other routes.
Codex and Claude Code connect an account instead of an API key. See connected accounts and hosted models. Launch instructions and the final supported catalog will be confirmed with release.
