    What does a Shard pay for?

    A Shard is $1 of Shard usage credit. Different models have different rates for input, cached input and output. Some provider tools also have per-call charges.

    Your eligible plan allowance is used first, then your bonus and standard wallet balances. See current model rates.

    When does my allowance renew?

    Monthly plans renew on your monthly billing date. Every-7-day plans renew every seven days from when you subscribe. Your account shows your active allowance, renewal dates and service limits.

    Do I need a paid plan for my own key?

    No. Personal API keys and Codex or Claude connections are available on every tier, Free included. That usage is billed to your API account or counts against your connected provider subscription. Shard service limits still apply.

    How do billing and cancellation work?

    Subscriptions are charged in USD through Stripe. Checkout shows the total, including applicable taxes, before payment. Access activates after payment is confirmed.

    You can cancel renewal in Manage billing on your account. Access continues through the period already paid. Cancellation is not an automatic refund; contact [email protected] for billing or refund requests.

    Can I switch plans or buy top-ups?

    Choose a plan above to review a change in your account. Higher tiers on the same billing period activate after successful payment, with an unused-time credit and a proportional allowance increase; your existing usage and renewal date stay intact. Downgrades and changes between monthly and every-7-day billing start at renewal, and you can cancel a scheduled change beforehand. You review the amount due, taxes and renewal terms before confirming. There is one subscription per account. Top-up purchases are not currently available.
